The natural landscape and how it is
affected by the passing of time influences the abstract expression
of my mixed media work. Textural elements of soil and rock stain
their way onto the canvas when I bury it into the ground for several
months. Upon excavation, the scared and stained cloth suggests a
visual engagement with the earth that prompts my artistic response.
